My Cousin and Me

This weekend I got to meet my cousin, Brandon, for the very first time. She spent two nights at our house and it was so much fun! She played with me, came to Sabbath School with me, and didn't even mind when I accidentally spit up on her. She is a super fun big cousin! I hope she'll come visit me again soon!

Grami Jami's Visit

My Grami came to visit me this week and we had so much fun! At first I wasn't too sure about her but it didn't take me long to warm up.
The week went by so fast but we packed a lot in!

Grami and I played togetherand she read me stories before nap time.I took her to Sabbath School with me and my cousin, Brandon, came too!Grami and I played out in the yard together. She likes to play in the yard like me!Thanks for the fun visit, Grami!

I'm 8 Months Old!

Can you believe it? It's true! I am really eight months old today and there are so many new things I am doing. The month of March has been really exciting! I learned to crawl the first week, learned to stand in my crib the second week, and then I learned how to crawl up the stairs! Now I practice my new abilities as often as I can!I am such a happy, playful girl!I'm helpful too! I like to help mommy with chores around the house, like unfolding the laundry!
Every chance I get, I practice my crawlingand stair climbing.Stretching before and after is so important! We've been having some nicer weather which has been wonderful for mommy and me. We've played outside a lot, which we both love.I like to listen to the birds singing and watch them fly all around gathering sticks and other things to build their nests.I have so much fun when mommy lets me play in the grass and dirt. There are so many interesting things to see and do outside!Yup, being eight months old is a lot of fun. I'm far more independent now and I'm always on the go. I don't want to miss anything and most of the time, I don't!

I'm Glad I went to Sabbath School

This morning I got all dressed up in a special outfit that my Nana gave me because Mommy and Daddy took me to Sabbath School. Although I have gone to this church before, it was the first time I visited Sabbath School. I wasn't sure what to expect! There were lots of people in the room. Lots of moms, dads, and A LOT of kids! Daddy held me on his lap so I could see everything. We sang songs and heard stories all about the animals that Jesus made for us. Everyone even sang a special song to me while Daddy held me on the rocking horse. After Sabbath School was over I got to have play time with a new friend. She is one day older than me so we got along great. What a fun morning!

I'm Seven Months Old!

Mommy and Daddy say they can't believe it, but it's true! Today I am seven months old and life is good!I'm eating lots of good food these days. I love everything I eat but my favorites are mango, sweet potatoes, and green beans.I'm sleeping 12+ hours at night and taking two naps a day. Mommy and Daddy keep saying "Knock on wood"...whatever that means!I'm very playful and talkative all day long.I love playing in my room with all my toys and stuffed animalsand I love how easy it is for me to get around in my walker!
We have gotten some nicer weather so Mommy and I have gone for long walks and short runs. I love being outside whether in my stroller, jogger, or just on a blanket in the yard.Yes, as you can see, life is good!

Visiting Uncle Kirk and Auntie Lindsey

This past weekend mommy, daddy, and I flew to Southern California to visit my uncle and auntie. I was so excited to get to go on another airplane! We got to their house very late at night so I had to wait until the next morning before I could see them. We had a fun time at their house. We went on a hike up in the mountains, I played with their little dog, we celebrated Auntie's birthday, and I showed them how close I was to crawling. I'm getting really excited about having a new little cousin to play with! I've been told we won't get to see them again for several months and I'm not happy about that. Maybe they'll miss me so much they'll arrange for a visit sooner!

Super Bowl Sunday

As I've said before, I LOVE football! Today was Super Bowl Sunday I was excited to watch the Saints and the Colts play. Now, even though the 49ers weren't in the Super Bowl this year (NEXT year for sure!!) I wanted to show my support and pride so mommy and I wore our 49er outfits. We had a fun morning at the playground, then I took a nap. When I woke up it was time to watch the game. What a game!! I wouldn't have been disappointed either way, but I was glad the Saints won. Do I really have to wait until August?

When Mommy is Away...

Mommy went on a grocery run and left me home with Daddy. When she returned this is what she found...

Try and keep up!

I'm six months old now and doing so many new things, it's hard for mommy and daddy to keep up! I'm now sleeping 12-12.5 hours at night. Mommy and Daddy are extremely happy about that! I am also sleeping on my tummy now (even though Mommy puts me on my back) which I find far more comfortable.I have found my thumb and have also found that I enjoy sucking it when I'm sleepy. I can sit up really well all by myself now, but if I tip over I've decided it's easier to just hang out on my tummy or back. One of these days I'll probably figure out how to sit back up, not important right now.

I have been eating solids for over a week now. In the morning I have oatmeal, which I love! In the evening I have a variety of fruits and vegetables. So far the variety has included sweet potatoes, bananas, peas, and squash. I love eating solid food and so far everything I've had has been delicious. It's fun, and I think I'm good at it!

I got a new ball this weekend. Daddy and I played together for a long time. I like to watch it bounce and roll, it makes me giggle.

I am becoming so much more aware of everything around me. My bedroom is fascinating and there is so much to look at. I like looking at all the animals that are painted on the wall.

Today I was sitting a little too close to Andy, the bear. I let Mommy know that maybe I was a little too close, she told me not to worry. So I won't. I'm growing fast and changing every day, but there is one thing that doesn't change; I know Mommy will keep me safe.

Our Year in Review 2009

Happy New Year!

We began 2009 pregnant!

We experienced the biggest storm of the year and spent a lot of time cleaning up our yard from all the tree debris. We also had to have some holes in the roof repaired.

In mid-January we had visitors- Gary, Janet, Abby and Brandon!

While they were here we got a new toy.

In February we headed to a sunnier location and spent a week in Honolulu, a babymoon of sorts!

As winter turned into spring, T began looking more and more pregnant.

In April we had visits from C's dad and our niece, Brandon. We also started cultivating a garden in our backyard.

In May, T turned the big 3-0! C surprised her with two amazing birthday trips. First she got to fly to San Francisco and spend a weekend with her Woodside friends. While there she was treated to a surprise baby shower in Woodside and a delicious birthday dinner in the city. The following weekend the two of us flew to St. Louis for a weekend with T's family. A wonderful opportunity to celebrate her birthday and spend Mother's Day with her mom. Truly a birthday to remember!

At the end of May, we flew to Southern California to celebrate our SIL's graduation from Loma Linda Dental School. We were treated to a wonderful surprise baby shower at cousin Andy and Danielle's.

In June T finished the school year and was excited for summer! A highlight at the beginning of the month was a visit from T's dear friend, Stacy, who was home visiting from Taiwan. We had just a wonderful time together and are looking foward to her return in June of 2010!

Our SIL came to see us for a week in mid-June and together she and T created the most beautiful nursery for our expected little one.

July came around and brought the wonderful warm weather we had been waiting for. We were eagerly anticipating the arrival of our little one and T was looking as though she was about to pop...

...and then she did!!

Little C
was born on
July 23, 2009

After Little C arrived we were blessed to have visits from our parents and siblings throughout the months of July and August.

Grami Jami

L-R: Nana and Grandpa, Little C, Papa Roly, T, C

Auntie Lindsey and Uncle Kirky with Little C

Uncle Bret and Jesssica with Little C

Uncle Chad, Auntie Kelly, and Keira with Little C

In September Little C took her very first plane ride as we flew to So. California to celebrate C's dad's 60th birthday in Huntington Beach.

As a birthday gift we surprised Papa Roly with a trip to Capitola. On our way up the coast we stopped in Camarillo to give Little C the opportunity to meet more of her family, including her Great Grandma Gail or 3G as we like to call her :)

Our week in Capitola was perfect. We enjoyed staying at the Venetian, eating at the Shadowbrook, and relaxing on the beach. Little C loved the feeling of the sand between her toes!

After our trip to Capitola we headed to Galt to spend a week with Grami Jami and Grandpa Gar-ball. We had a thoroughly relaxing time laying out by the pool in the warm California sun. The highlight of our time there was taking Little C to her first 49er game in San Francisco thanks to the Hadleys!

October was another busy month at our house! We had visits from Uncle Mike and Aunt Susie, Grami Jami and Grandpa Gar-ball, and the long awaited visit from Uncle Kurt and Trish who were meeting Little C for the very first time.

At the end of the month we celebrated C's birthday. Little C was happy to be a part of the celebration!

November was relatively quiet for us. Both Little C and T got sick with the flu so we followed the doctor's orders and postponed our trip to IL. By Thanksgiving we were all feeling much better and were joined by Papa Roly and Daniel for Little C's first Thanksgiving. Little C took the opportunity to roll over for the first time from her back to her tummy! We were so impressed!

December was a very busy month! First a visit from Grami Jami and Auntie Pam,

then a trip to IL to visit T's family and celebrate Christmas.

A week after returning from IL we flew to Southern California for two weeks to continue our Christmas celebration with C's family along with T's oldest brother and his family. A three part Christmas!

Before heading back home we rung in the New Year with Kirk, Lindsey, Andy and Danielle.

We are looking forward to all that this year will bring. It promises to be another memorable year for us and hope it will be for you as well.
Happy 2010 to all!

We wish you all love and happiness,
C, T and Little C
